PRE-PICKUP

The boat in the water on Deep Creek Lake, MD September, 2006.

The boat did not look bad but take note the power cord feeding the battery charger to keep the boat afloat.

The boat started to leak very badly in early September, 2006. After inspection it was determined that the bottom was in very bad shape.

Earlier sub-standard repairs on the for-foot. Epoxy is the the cure-all.

TEARDOWN

Note: old frame falling apart. Gray boats are often in better shape.

The boat still coming apart.

FRAME-REBUILD

Making the new engine bed stringers. These are made of clear Duglass Fir.

This boat is being worked on a little different than most. We usually do not remove all of the frames at one time. Due to the location in the shop and the space needed the stringers had to be installed from the top. Also the time of the year other boats could not be rolled outside to move this one. Several inces of snow are on the ground.

New side rear bottom frames just setting in place.

Frames being installed permanently.

Working on the forward framework.

New stem installed.

Installing the chines.

Chines installed, also the original sheer plank is temporarly installed to shape the shear batten.

Moved outside 10/21/08 to get a photo of all seven different styles of Coronados together. This boat is the boat second from the left, up side down. The front planks re-installed to assure that no adjustment needed to be made.
